The Children’s Room offers a number of early literacy, creative, and social programs for children of all ages.

Baby Playgroup
Come spend time with other babies, toddlers, and their caregivers during this self-directed play time. Recommended for ages 2 and under. Registration not required.

Join us for books, songs, and movement while developing early literacy skills and having fun! Every storytime ends with art exploration and a craft. Ages 2-5. No registration required.

Read to a Dog
Build confidence by reading to a trained therapy dog and its handler in a judgment-free space. Each child will have a total of 12 minutes to read to and visit with the dog. Please have your books picked out ahead of time.

Chess Club 4 Kids
Learn to play chess while meeting new friends. This is a drop-in program with 20 minutes of instruction and plenty of time to play the game in a supportive environment. Chess sets and pieces provided. New members welcome. No registration required.

Lego At The Library
We’ve got the bricks; you bring the creativity! The theme changes weekly. Please leave your personal LEGO® sets at home. Children must be five years of age to participate. Weekly registration is required.

Noon Year’s Eve Party with Mr. Aaron
Let’s sing, dance, and countdown to Noon with Mr. Aaron! This interactive and energetic music program gets the kiddos movin’ and groovin’ with classic kids songs, Mr. Aaron originals, and a few pop favorites for good measure. You’ll hear the guitar, the saxophone, harmonica, and even collaborate to improvise a live-looped original song! Towards the end, we’ll count down to noon, and even sing a little Auld Lang Syne to get us ready for the new year. Recommended for ages 8 and under.
Registration is required and is per family (not per individual).
