Join us for Reading Upwards! A book group about living, meaning, and belonging in perilous times. We meet the first Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the Aldrich Room. You don’t have to read the entire book to attend! Spend some time with it, see what speaks to you and what doesn’t, and come share your thoughts. Books can be checked out by any Upper Valley resident.
We will discuss The Happiness Project: Or Why I Spent a Year Trying to Sing in the Morning, Clean My Closets, Fight Right, Read Aristotle, and Generally Have More Fun by Gretchen Rubin.
"Rubin's funny, perceptive account is both inspirational and forgiving, and sprinkled with just enough wise tips, concrete advice and timely research (including all those other recent books on happiness) to qualify as self-help. Defying self-help expectations, however, Rubin writes with keen senses of self and narrative, balancing the personal and the universal with a light touch." -Publisher's Weekly
Please contact jared.jenisch@thehowe.org if you would like to participate; we will send a Zoom invite to the event.
