Ciné Salon: Legends
Ciné Salon Spring 2020 honors the bold ones.

Picasso and Braque Go to the Movies & Yoko Ono Lennon’s Courage Awards
Cubism, cinema and performance art – radical art practices separated by 100+ years (1908 and 2016) are brilliantly contemplated by present day practitioners – Martin Scorsese, Chuck Close, Julian Schnabel, Eric Fischl and many others reflecting on Cubist painters Picasso and Braque and the influence of early cinema; then followed in a second unique video document shot by Jonas Mekas that forefronts the heroic efforts of modern day artists-recipients of the 2016 Yoko Ono Lennon’s Courage Awards: Laurie Anderson, Mohammed el Gharani, Eileen Boxer, RoseLee Goldberg, LoftOpera.
