Poetry as Presence

Do you love language?  Enjoy gathering with others to experience art in community?  Join us for Poetry as Presence, a quarterly group for reading and listening to poetry.

Poetry as Presence is about the enjoyment of the spoken word.  Poetry brings things to presence in language; reading and listening to poetry can be a form of practicing presence.

Take a break from the news and share in the experience of poetry with others!  Bring a favorite poem to read, or come to listen.

This is not a discussion group, and no preparation is required (it is also not a writing group; please bring poems published by others).  All are welcome!

This virtual program meets on the third Sunday of the month from 7:00 to 8:00 pm, four times a year.  Meetings in 2025 will be: Winter – February 16; Spring – May 18; Summer – August 17; and Fall – November 16. Email Jared Jenisch at jared.jenisch@thehowe.org for more information or a Zoom invitation.

A complete list, with links, of the poems we shared in 2023 can be found here, and poems from 2022 can be found here.
