Reference librarians answer questions and assist library customers in person, by phone or by email. Use the Ask a Question page to email a question.

Howe Library's reference collections include materials in print and microfilm, online databases, and Internet resources.

Interlibrary loan service is available to obtain materials that are not owned by Howe Library. Ask the Reference staff for more information or use the interlibrary loan request form.

Public computers are available in the library to access the Internet and to use Howe's online databases. (See public Internet use policy and guidelines.) There are several wireless laptop computers available for in-house use. To borrow one, inquire at the check-out desk.

wheelchair logoScreen magnification and screen reading software are on some public computers at Howe. Ask at the reference desk for information.

Public computers may be used for word processing. Blank disks may be purchased at the circulation desk or bring your own disk to save your documents.

A microfilm/fiche reader-printer allows users of these formats to read and print documents directly.

A photocopy machine is available in the library.

There is a $.10 per page charge for printing and photocopying.
